Meditation Workshop with OHM Chanting
Saturday April 5, 10:30am-12:30pm
investment, sliding scale: $20, $30, $40
In today's society, it's easy to get caught in overthinking, leading to stress, anxiety, depression, emotional eating, hormonal imbalance, illness, insomnia, energy loss, and weight problems. Meditation, one of the oldest practices for calming the mind, helps us stay present and take control of our thoughts. By making it a daily habit, we cultivate awareness and mindfulness, reducing stress, controlling anxiety, improving focus, enhancing sleep, boosting immunity, slowing aging, and lowering blood pressure. Meditation is accessible anytime, anywhere, and can be integrated into our daily lives, including during yoga practice.
Chanting, a common meditative practice across cultures, involves rhythmic repetition of sounds or phrases, often serving as a mantra or prayer. One of the most significant chants is "OM," known as the first sound of the universe, symbolizing the vibration from which all creation emerged. In Hindu philosophy, OM connects our frequency to that of the universe, with each syllable (A-U-M) representing different realms, such as Earth, atmosphere, and heaven, as described in ancient Vedic texts.
